Fall Wellness Tonic

It's best to make this tonic right when you feel like you are getting sick, and drink a serving each morning. If you feel like it is a strong cold, drink one serving in the morning and one at night. And Voila! Your cold will be prevented and/or shortened. Feel free to try this tonic even if you don't have a cold, it's a great immune booster. Make the tonic periodically throughout the winter and you may never catch a cold!


1/2 cup Pau d Arco

1/2 cup Yerba Mate

2 inches from a turmeric root

2 inches from a ginger root

1/4 cup cardamom pods (broken up)

1 lemon

1/4 cup of raw honey

echinacea tincture


First grate the turmeric and ginger roots. Then brew it like you would a tea, in a french press or with a large tea infuser. Heat 6-8 cups of water and add all the ingredients. Once brewed, add one dropper full of echinacea tincture, and 1/2 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Let the brew cool until you can at least put your finger into the mixture, then add 1/4 cup of raw honey. (Since the honey is raw, you don't want to add it while the water is still hot, it will kill the beneficial antioxidants). We recommend Aptos Apiaries honey, which is raw, local and have specific formulas for your immune system. We sell it in our wellness section.
