January Highlight: Moon Valley Organics

January 3, 2017

This month, we are highlighting Moon Valley Organics, a natural beauty and skin care line. Owners Aaron and Kim Otto work with a team of artists, doctors, farmers, herbalists, and worker bees on their permaculture farm, located in the Cascade Mountains of Washington. As a B corporation, with Organic and Leaping Bunny certification, Moon Valley Organics works hard to incorporate eco-friendly and sustainable practices into their line, while also supporting organic farms, WWOOFERS, and workers. Organic ingredients are grown and harvested, then processed while still fresh. What is not grown on their farms, is sourced from other local and organic farmers. Their line consists of organic body soaps, lip balms, liquid hand soaps, and lotion bars. The newest part of their line are medicinal salves, which incorporates their knowledge of ayurvedic and Chinese herbs to heal targeted symptoms. They also give back to the farming community through their Help Save The Bees campaign, which is partially funded by the net profits of their Herbal Lip Balms. Through this campaign, the team have been able to donate a pollination garden for the bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds on their farm. Click the links below to learn more about Moon Valley Organics. You can also find their lip balms, lotion bars, and some skin creams here at Aptos Natural Foods.
